We have had many fundraising activities this year, not only to raise donations but awareness. You could say we have a bit of sweet tooth here at Cascade which has aided our fundraising: from donations raised from our tuck box to “The Cascade Great Bake Off” where staff took part in baking competition and then the baking entries were sold for donations, from these events we have raised hundreds of pounds for the charity.
In August St Gemma’s hosted a Classic Car Rally, raising money from cake sales and other activities Our very own Commercial Director, Richard Anderson won “The Best in Show” trophy with his 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1300 Sprint. The award was presented by Charles Lister, Chairman of the Leeds MG & Classic Car Club. To read the article click here.
Earlier in the year we also took part in the “9th Annual Questions of Sport Celebrity Quiz & Dinner”, where Cascade donated £500, and entered a team into the celebrity packed night at Elland Road in Leeds.Admittedly not the best team when it came to sports knowledge but we got the chance to find out more about what our donations help St Gemma’s achieve, and got to meet a few sporting heroes along the way!
‘St. Gemma’s would like to say a very big thank you to all of the staff at Cascade for their kind and continued support. The money raised by staff is making a real difference to our patients and their families every day. Their enthusiasm for the charity is fantastic and we were delighted when Richard Anderson won the ‘Best in Show’ at the Classic Car Rally.’
