HR and payroll software specialist Cascade HR has scooped the coveted Best Stand award at the CIPD’s Annual Conference and Exhibition 2014.
This week the two-day Manchester Olympia event attracted hundreds of industry professionals, keen to further their knowledge and plan for the future. And once again the exhibition hall was crowded with suppliers and consultants ready to pass on their expertise.
So People Management – the official magazine of the CIPD and media partner for the show – conducted their annual audit of exhibitors’ stands, to find who really stood out from the crowd.
A panel of CIPD and People Management judges scored exhibitors according to the clarity of their on-stand messaging, branding, quality of available resources, use of space, the extent to which they successfully enticed visitors, plus the skills, knowledge, approachability, efficiency and professionalism of the team.
Having achieved the event’s highest rating, long-standing exhibitor Cascade HR was presented with the 2014 trophy. Angela Hughes, Commercial Director at People Management, congratulated Cascade: “The volume and quality of the stands at this exhibition is incredibly high. So, to be independently judged as the winner, via a robust scoring system, is something that Cascade should be extremely proud of!
“Judges were wowed by the bold graphics, the level of engagement with delegates and the stand material.”
Cascade has had a presence at the event for over 20 years, far before the company even had its current brand. Speaking of the team’s delight upon receiving this award, Cascade’s Head of Marketing Andy Court said: “It’s a fantastic achievement for our whole team, especially given the scale and stature of this event.
“Every year we carefully plan how the stand will look, what our messaging will be, how we’ll interact with visitors and the most engaging way to pass on our knowledge. It’s not just about ‘kerb appeal’ – the whole strategy must epitomise our brand.
“Clients don’t just buy from us because of our HR software or our payroll software – they invest in the quality of our services and people too, so we must showcase all of our strengths on our exhibition stand. It’s what differentiates us from our competitors and it’s great that we’ve achieved further recognition for this.”
Cascade’s stand was busy throughout the whole of the show, with demonstration pods constantly full. This resulted in an impressive number of leads being achieved from a cross-section of the private sector business environment.
Sales Manager Marc Greggains also attracted a full auditorium for his advice-led ‘Big Data – Big Deal?’ seminar. Andy continued: “Whilst we are regular presenters at CIPD events, this is the first time we’ve taken to the stage at the November show. However, Marc’s session proved incredibly popular, and to pull in a full house when covering such a niche topic, is a testament to his knowledge.”
